In a thrilling double overtime game against the Gauchos of Glendale Community College, the Lady Jegos came out victorious.
Another big first quarter helped propel the Jegos to hold on to the rest of the game as GCC would out score the Jegos in the second and third quarters. The intensity of the game was neck-and-neck in the fourth and in the two overtimes that followed. GCC would have as much as a 5 point lead but big buckets from Sophomore Rhiannon Singer and Sophomore Cherlee Collins would tie the game right back up. At the end of the 4th, the game was tied up 76-76
In the over time periods, baskets were swapped back-and-forth between the two teams. After the first five extra minutes, it was all tied up again at 85 a piece. In the 2nd overtime, it was a low scoring 5 minutes as both teams were tired but the Jegos outscored the Gauchos 8-4, winning the game 93-89.
5 Lady Jegos scored in the double digits led by Sophomore Rhiannon Singer who also had her first career double-double. She finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds, along with 4 steals and 2 assists on the night. Sophomores Cherlee Collins and Samantha Nunez finished with 14, and Za'Riah Griffin and Stephanie Teller both finished with 16.
The Jegos are now 2-1 in ACCAC play and 6-5 overall.
